In response to COVID-19 I am utilizing online and phone sessions. I am also co-leading an integrative group to include meditation/movement.

The Safe and Sound and Rest and Restore Protocols

UNYTE SSP

I am excited to offer cutting edge interventions research-based and clinically effective in symptom relief and long-term nervous system regulation. These bottom up approaches to well being allow for a fully integrative approach towards healing. I have found both protocols to be transformational for many who use them.

My Approach

I bring a carefully attuned and clinically informed approach to each person’s process, guided by decades of experience and advanced training in attachment, trauma and the autonomic nervous system.

This careful attention and partnership often facilitates deep nervous system retunement and healing along with increased relational accessibility and faster progression therapeutically.

Common feedback that I receive is that:

What is the Safe and Sound Protocol?

Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a non-invasive auditory vagal stimulator designed to calm the nervous system and expand the window of tolerance. The SSP utilizes specifically filtered music that helps to maintain a sense of ease and engagement with others. Regulation of the autonomic system also allows for improvements in overall health.

Clients who complete the SSP often report

  • Reduced anxiety, irritability, or emotional reactivity
  • Improved emotional resilience and capacity for calm
  • Better sleep and digestion
  • Increased feelings of connection with others
  • Improvements in sensory sensitivities including misophonia
  • Reduction in Anxiety and chronic stress
  • A greater sense of calm and well being
  • Greater capacity to feel joy
  • Less relational conflict
  • More ease in boundary setting

What is the Rest and Restore Protocol?

Co-developed by Dr. Stephen Porges and Anthony Gory, the Rest and Restore Protocol is a cutting edge, non-invasive intervention that also stimulates the Vagus Nerve but with a specific goal of stealfully bringing the body into a state of ease/homeostasis. Through its utilization of the decades of research studying physiological rhythms in the body including heart rate, respiration, blood pressure and digestion along with the principles of entrainment, the RRP engages the healing functions of the autonomic nervous system enabling shifts into relaxed states.

Early data suggests that the Rest and Restore Protocol may support:

  • Improved sleep and restfulness
  • Regulation of digestion and gut health
  • Relief from trauma-related symptoms
  • Reduction in anxiety and chronic stress
  • A great overall sense of ease and well-being

These Listening Therapies are:

  • Low risk
  • Low cost
  • Non-invasive
  • Accessible
  • Integrative

While I often incorporate the SSP and RRP into my ongoing therapy work with clients/patients, I can also offer them in conjunction with those who are in therapy with another practitioner.

Support for these challenging times. (Individual and Group offerings)

In today's climate, many of us are experiencing heightened anxiety, fear or chronic stress. Our nervous systems weren’t designed to remain in constant alert or a state of threat. Over time, this chronic vigilance or distress can impact our health, relationships and capacity to focus. Both the Safe and Sound Protocol and the Rest and Restore protocol offer gentle science-backed ways to support the body as we navigate these times. I am offering individual and group delivery to those seeking relief and resilience

Getting Started

If you are curious about whether the SSP or RRP might be right for you, please reach out for a brief consultation. Together we can determine the approach and timeline that will best support you.
