After working with individuals across all stages of life for over 30 years, I have come to believe that we are all wired for health in our relationships with ourselves and others. However, when faced with early trauma or a lack of emotional safety, our systems can adapt by remaining in a vigilant state or by disconnecting or shutting down.
In keeping with this premise, I employ a collaborative therapeutic style marked by warmth, empathy and respect. My integrative approach to psychotherapy draws heavily from attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, emotion-focused therapy, somatic work and mindfulness. This cohesive approach combines the latest psychological knowledge and techniques with early wisdom traditions in order to support clients as they move towards a restoration of well-being in their minds, bodies and relationships.
With a Psypact License, I can work with patients/clients in most states within the US.
While I have participated in many continuing educational trainings, the following reflect some of the most significant influences in my approach to psychotherapy. The following areas represent some of the most influential approaches to my work.
Ten Powerful Models in Psychotherapy Integration, Interpersonal Neurobiology, DARe/SATe (Attachment and Trauma healing/experience), Meditation/Mindfulness, Polyvagal Theory, Compassionate Inquiry.
